I found that I never pulled this map out once. Bangkok is so easy to get around you don't need this. If you just want a glossy map than pick it up. It is a very comprehensive map that lists the locations of hotels, and some of the major attractions. The map at the metro stations are much more easier to use than looking at this one.
I'm always a bit leery of investing in a travel map in case it falls short or the information is wrong. But I was super happy with the Groovy Map for Bangkok AND for Chiang Mai up north. I actually loved the sample day itinerary!I didnt do the restaurants but did do the suggested sites. The shopping tips and resources are on the money - literally. I am an avid shopper and I appreciated the honest assessments of places. The maps were in and out of our hands constantly and the fact that they were coated meant they didnt get those annoying little holes at the folds. Totally worth the few bucks to get these.
The best map for a tourist that I have seen! Very useful and funnnnn. I bought all the ones for the Thai cities and need Hong Kong Next.
Used the map for a 1.5 week stay in Bangkok. It was everything it says it is. Very groovy. The recommendations provided all turned out to be winners.
This map was very very helpful in the planning of my trip, understanding the areas of Bangkok and the transportation systems. Once we arrived in Bangkok, we used it constantly to get around and never had to ask for direction because the map was very clear. I would buy more Groovy Maps for other cities, in the future, if they are available.
